Joana Patrão’s exhibition book “Arboroscene: reflections on decay” shares her intimate contemplation of a decaying apple tree through a series of photographs, textures and drawings closely related to the ideas of growth, change and metamorphosis. The tree is the centre of this exhibition, resembling an axis of the world unwinding in every direction and reveals its strong presence and its continuity even afterlife. As viewers and readers, we witness a multi-dimensional experience of life, illness and death, that opens up a new understanding of our environment.
