The two previous editions of International Meeting Of Reflection On Community Artistic Practices (EIRPAC), held in 2015 and 2017, integrating the programme of MEXE_International Arts and Community Meeting, gathered 425 participants (284 Portuguese and 141 foreigner) in the dozens of promoted actions, consolidating itself as an essential space, both nationally and internationally, in this field of scientific production.

Based on this journey and on the concerns and questions of the current world, the challenge of the 3rd EIRPAC is focused on the theme “In search of The Common – contributions from the artistic practices to other possible futures”.

Considering the complexity of this field of action and the growing significance that these practices have been gaining in the artistic and contemporary creations, knowing that these are inseparable from social and cultural manifestations and experiences of the communities, the creation of reflection and sharing spaces is essential between all the parties involved.

The 3rd EIRPAC is heavily influenced by the social movements that emerge regarding the political transformations that proliferate around the world and the emergency of new and renewed spaces for involvement and artistic creation. In moments of restlessness and hopelessness, how the artistic practices get involved in the projection and collective construction of new realities and new futures? In this regard, the focus of this EIRPAC is precisely the analysis and reflections about ethical, aesthetic and political dimensions of the creative processes.

EIRPAC intends to reflect upon the diversity of these practices and, therefore, as its organization should contemplate the spaces of a more systematized academic reflection, as well as spaces for sharing perspectives and good practices, in a more informal record and involving the local communities.

GOALS

• To investigate the community artistic practices within the national and international context, identifying the social role they play, the aesthetic shapes used and the creation methodologies developed

• To promote the exchange and partnerships between national and international community artistic projects and researchers, strengthening a networking

• To analyse the community artistic creation projects, from which result significant contributes to the participatory and collaborative construction

• To reflect upon the processes of personal, cultural and social transformations through the processes of community artistic creation

• To stimulate the academic research and the creation of critical thinking around the research into/with/about community projects with artistic nature
