FINAL SYNTHESIS

The pandemic experience feels like a spiritual initiation of the first order.

I feel like this has permanently compromised human interaction. I don’t feel anything about the concept of utopia to be honest. I am very fatalistic we won’t survive too long, I think it is a commercial idea that has been sold to us. But we are now experiencing a limit to our most meaningful activity. Going forward we will have to play around it. We need a new semiotics of being disgustingly alive.

One thing that has happened though is that we started considering the Other as a valuable being. We are starting to have to take responsibility for how we effect the other - that we can kill them or that we can be vulnerable to them. This is something that was not there before in the same way.
