Arts Lab is a transdiciplinary research platform that joins artists and cultural producers with researchers of the Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Cultura da Faculdade de Ciências Humanas da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (CECC, FCH-UCP), the Campus Cultura, and the MA and PhD Students of The Lisbon Consortium.

For its second edition, in November 2022, the Research-based Art Residency Programme will count on the participation of Ana Pérez-Quiroga. The programme will include an artist talk, studio visits, a project developed with a group of MA students of The Lisbon Consortium, and a solo exhibition at the Galeria Fundação Amélia de Mello in 2023.

Ana Pérez-Quiroga (born in 1960, in Coimbra, Portugal), lives and works in Lisbon. Visual artist and performer, she graduated in Sculpture from the Universidade de Lisboa’s School of Fine Arts (FBAUL); completed the Advanced Course in Visual Arts at Ar.Co; holds a Master’s Degree in Intermedia Visual Arts from the Universidade de Évora and a Doctorate in Contemporary Art from the Universidade de Coimbra’s College of the Arts. Grant holder from Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia. She is a researcher at CHAIA - Center for History of Art and Artistic Research at the University of Évora.  Her work focuses essentially on installation, objects, photography and performance art, while her subjects range from everyday life and its mapping to the importance of common objects and gender issues.   Exhibits regularly since 1999; some of her most important solo shows took place at Chiado Museum-National Museum of Contemporary Art; National Museum of Ancient Art, Museum of Folk Art (Lisbon); Museu Nogueira da Silva (Braga); Museu do Neo-Realismo, (Vila Franca de Xira); Convent of Christ (Tomar); Arquivo Municipal Fotográfico; Quartel of Contemporary Art (Abrantes). and MAAT-Museum of Art Architecture and Technology, Lisbon.  She took part in group exhibitions held at such institutions as Culturgest; Museu do Chiado – MNAC; (Lisbon, PT); Palácio dos Duques, (Guimarães, PT); Centro de Arte de (Salamanca, SP); Falconer Gallery (Grinnell, Iowa, USA); China World Art Museum (Beijing, CN) and Villa Savoye - Le Corbusier (Poissy, FR).    Her work is featured in several collections, namely: Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea - Museu do Chiado; Ar.Co; Costa Rodrigues; Figueiredo Ribeiro; António Cachola; Vieira de Almeida; Câmara Municipal de Lisboa; Culturgest and Fundação EDP.  She has attended international residency programmes, with grants from Fundação Gulbenkian; Fundação Oriente; Institut français du Portugal - Cité international des Arts and Criatório - Criatório - Porto City Hall. Scholar of Foundation for Science and Technology. She has an atelier supported by the Lisbon City Council.  Winner of the 2014 Best Visual Arts Exhibition Prize from Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores - SPA.
